Shadows of the Southwest

I recently visited a beautiful location south of Santa Fe, New Mexico: El Rancho de las Golondrinas, "The Ranch of the Swallows." The textures and the lighting of the ranch were best showcased in monochromatic form, thus the entire black and white presentation. This is called: Shadows of the Southwest.

I recently visited a beautiful location south of Santa Fe, New Mexico: El Rancho de las Golondrinas, “The Ranch of the Swallows. The location was formerly used as early as the 1700’s as a stopping place along the Royal Road, or the famed Camino Real, the road from Mexico City to Santa Fe.  This historic rancho now acts as a living history museum complete with period dressed docents and residents. The museum serves to preserve the historical significance and feeling of the location.

The entire ranch abundantly lends itself to some stunning photo opportunities.  I’ve sat on these images for a while before deciding which way I wanted to go with their presentation. The textures and the lighting of the ranch were best showcased in monochromatic form, thus the entire black and white presentation. This is called: Shadows of the Southwest.
