On the second day of our mini vacation, we went to Colorado National Monument. We kind of ended up going there on accident. I don’t remember planning to do it that morning. We were pleasantly surprised by it. It has some incredible views.
We found that Grand Junction and the surrounding area has some beautiful landscapes that aren’t always apparent when just driving through. Here are a few photos from our drive through the monument. (Again with the vintage flavor.)
We drove along lots of cliffs on some curvy roads.
We stopped at lots of view points and pointed at the views.
We were careful not to fall off the cliffs.
But some of us came close.
We saw some pretty rock formations and were often threatened by rain.
We pondered the meaning of life through our sunglasses.
We admired all the nice spring flowers.
We saw the Unabomber.
And questioned some of our own fashion choices.
We posed for some pictures in the cold.
We posed for some more pictures.
And some of us waxed eloquent on rock formations and general geology. As we would.
